Seachtain na Gaeilge 2022

Bhí go leor imeachtaí ar siúl againn le haghaidh Seachtain na Gaeilge. Sna seomraí ranga, rinne na múinteoirí agus na páistí sár-iarracht an Ghaeilge a labhairt i rith an lae. Rinne na páistí ealaín álainn: seamróga; maisiúcháin na Féile Pádraig agus póstaeir le seanfhocail mar shampla. Chan siad amhráin agus d’fhoghlaim siad dánta i rith na seachtaine freisin. Rinne rang a trí tóraíocht taisce as Gaeilge agus rinne rang a ceathair tráth na gceist agus cluichí boird trí Gaeilge. Léigh rang a cúig úrscéalta Gaeilge agus rinne rang a sé dráma as Gaeilge.

Dé Máirt, tháinig Naomh Pádraig ar cuairt agus labhair sé leis na páistí faoi rothaíocht sna Sceirí.

Dé Céadaoin, bhí dhá thionól againn san Ionad Phobal. Rinne gach rang dán, amhrán nó dráma beag. Bhaineamar an-sult as an taispeántas agus rinne Tiernan, Annabelle, Sophie agus Evan jab iontach mar láithreoirí!

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona daoibh go léir!

We had lots of events for Seachtain na Gaeilge. In the classrooms, the teachers and pupils made a big effort to speak Irish throughout the day. The children did beautiful art-work: shamrocks; St. Patrick’s Day decorations and posters with proverbs for example. They sang songs and learned poems during the week as well. Third class did a treasure hunt in Irish and 4th class did a quiz and played board games in Irish. Fifth class read Irish novels and sixth class did drama in Irish.

On Tuesday, St. Patrick came on a visit and spoke to the children about cycling in Skerries.

On Wednesday, we had two assemblies in the Community Centre. Every class performed a poem, song or drama. We really enjoyed the performances and Tiernan, Annabelle, Sophie and Evan did a great job as presenters!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
