On Thursday 10th March, scientist/comedian Mr Brain performed for each class level (imagine, four times!) for our school in the Community Centre.
He started the show with goofy music and some jokes. He impressed us with his ability to balance three glasses of water on his nose. Who knew science could be so interesting and fun?
I was delighted when I was chosen to be an assistant (that’s me balancing the green balloon on one finger, with Theory and Tiernan). I’m not sure Ms Kelly was so pleased to “be volunteered” later on!
One of the other highlights was his demonstration of an optical illusion, when he made Chloe’s head three times bigger – or seemed to!
He showed us gravity in action, as well as the power of centrifugal force, by spinning a glass of water around. He even gave Ross in my class a biscuit, when he was assisting him.
He showed us the importance of focus and concentration with his spinning ball activity.
At the end of all this laughter, I even got his autograph! Thank you, Mr Brain, from all of us in St Patrick’s, including the teachers!
